So today began the first day of our trip. It started at 3 in the morning when we woke up to leave. personal i slept most of the day in the car while my dad drove. we drove just of over 800 miles from California to Wyoming. Sense we have not officially started on route 66 we didn’t go anywhere special for food. for dinner we went to a local feeding hole across the street from our hotel. The people that work in this town are odd. It seems to only be underage girls that work and the town is nothing but fireworks and liquor stores. my kind of place. anyway i got a pretty funny picture of a sign and that will be my picture of the day hope you enjoy.

I Think that is a deadly combination

  1. Thanks for your insights son! I loved how the sign had your initials on it; TNT ! I wish you fun on your journey as you get to know the people in towns across America. You have always known city life and its pace and way of thinking. I wish you many good conversations with the locals as then you will get to know the place all the better. I look forward to your post tomorrow.

  2. Hahaha!with that combination it is surprising that nobody got hurt losing a finger or two. Anyway the pictures your dad and you have posted made us long for the good old days.Howard and I used to pile up Rhett and Marian with pillows and blankets at the back of the Vanagon and leave for LA at 4am. The trip smelled of hard boiled eggs, potato chips and coffee.
Missed those vintage gas stations and quick-stop stores.
