Discovering Normal Rockwell's America

Williams, AZ to Kingman, AZ

Written By: trevixan - Jul• 25•11

So, I think I mentioned in the last post that we’d be going from Williams, AZ to Barstow, CA. Well, that’s not accurate. We’re only making it as far as Kingman, AZ.

Our first stop is for lunch. But I got a shot of this first.

We didn’t have anything there. But we did here …

The first thing we notice on the menu was something called Arizona Toothpicks. It was deep fried onions and jalapenos. It was pretty good.

Trevor had some sort of cheeseburger with the Arizona Toothpicks on it.

I had a different burger.

In Seligman, AZ I just had to take a picture of this one, can anyone guess why?

There is much more to see in Seligman, AZ. Such as Delgadillo’s Snow Cap.

Next door, is an interesting gift shop.

Down the street a ways, there’s the eclectic Rusty Bolt.

There is much to see in Seligman, as it relates to Route 66. Too many things to post here. However, I will try my best to post more.

Here’s another touristy spot. I like the name .. Return to the 50s.

I just liked this next one. Don’t know why, but I do.

More eclectic stuff.

And no Route 66 place is complete without a historic site.

And ya gotta have this next restaurant!

Sounds like a good place to eat.

I look a good BBQ pit.

Across the street is another restaurant. Check out just how good their burgers are.

We now leave Seligman and drive down the road. Outside of Kingman is this little outpost.

That’s it for this portion of the trip. Next we leave Arizona and enter California. Our journey is almost at an end.

That was some BBQ pit! Maybe when you get home you could dig a pit in your back yard and open a Norwegian BBQ Diner. Hate to seen your trip come to an end but home must really sound good to you by now. A hui ho.

Yeah .. I wouldn’t mind having an adjustable grill like that. However, with all of my current grills, I am not sure the little woman would allow another one! :O)
